Kela Devi Temple  Kela Devi Temple                                    Kaila Devi Temple in Karauli is a Hindu religious temple, which is considered as one of the 9 Shakti Peethas of Goddess Durga. Kalisil River Kaila Devi Temple is situated on the banks of Kalisil River at a distance of 23 km from Karauli city. Kaila Devi is situated in the form of a goddess in this temple, which is visited by lakhs of people every year. Goddess Kaila is regarded as the protector and savior of mankind. This temple was built by the rulers of Rayat Jadaun Rajput of Karauli kingdom. History of Kaila Devi Temple Kela Devi Temple Maharaja Gopal Singh ji had laid the foundation of this temple in 1723 which was completed in 1930. He also installed the idol of Chamunda ji inside this temple which he had brought from the fort of Gangraon which was installed there in 1150 by the Khinchi ruler Mukund Das ji.
